Hubby and I have several family members and friends that are going through some pretty heavy stuff in their lives right now and their hearts are heavy. I thought i would share some thoughts with you in case you are also going through a rough patch in your life at the moment. We believe in a Higher Power, the Author and Creator of our lives. Yes, I am talking about God and yes, He does have a plan and a purpose for each of our lives. Whether or not we choose to follow the path He would like us to is another story.
Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
~Jeremiah 33:3
I will not say that there are times when I question God's reasons for what happens in my life, but I do know that God only wants the very best for me and my family. I believe that with everything in me...... BUT sometimes I truly want to just sit in a corner and kick and scream like a toddler throwing a tantrum because I don't want to do what God wants me to or because I don't think I can do it....but I have come to learn that He doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called. I have no idea who said that, but it is so very true!
Often times it is difficult to see how God is moving in the midst of a trial or a difficult time. One way to see how God is working in your life is to keep a prayer journal. I have several friends that do this and I began to do it a couple of years ago. This is one way to see how God is really moving and answering prayers of His children. It is so awesome to be able to look back through a journal of prayers for friends and family and be able to record the answer given and the date under or beside the original request. Try it and watch how your prayers are answered but also how your prayer life and relationship with God change. It is awesome to see something that you have prayed about for years be answered...talk about not only a testimony, but a legacy you will leave behind for your children and/or grandchildren to have.
Imagine if you had a parent or grandparent who was a believer and they had done this and when they passed away you were left with them. Reading through pages and pages of prayers that may have involved you or your family and then seeing the date that prayer was answered....talk about a huge faith builder! I hope that one day my children will have the opportunity to read mine and know the many prayers that were answered without them even knowing. If you don't believe me just try it!
Well, I am going to leave this post with one of my favorite songs of all time that talks about how God holds onto us even when we don't think He's there.
